Site Manager on GSA STARS II Small Business IDIQ handles all IT infrastructure development, upgrade or modification in the organization. They make use of their Information Technology infrastructure and construction engineering knowledge to help organizations achieve their technical infrastructural aims. Site managers are also called building managers or construction managers. Their main responsibility is to supervise construction sites and make sure that the construction projects are running as planned within the budget constraints and time-frame. Their work is not limited the construction site and most often, their work starts before construction starts on the site. IT Site Managers provide applications systems analysis and programming activities for a government site, facility or multiple locations. Prepare long and short-range plans for application selection, systems development, systems maintenance, and production activities and for necessary support resources. Senior site managers most times take full responsibility for the entirety of the project and are called project managers. Site managers are often hired by construction companies (major contractors), property development and house building companies, public sector or government agencies. May have bachelor’s degrees in construction-related courses such as civil engineering, project management, and construction; and Information Technology Infrastructure disciplines like Mechanical engineering, Computer programming, Information Technology, and so on. May also gain professional qualification from the Chartered Institute of Building. Possess good communication skills that enable them to communicate with the workers under them and the financiers or owners of the work. Have strong problem-solving skills coupled with excellent decision-making ability that ensure that all issues are resolved and things go according to plan. Supervise and oversee site projects and ensure that they meet all requirements and specifications. Continuously monitor the progress of the work, supervise the construction workers, select the tools and materials needed for the building, monitor costs by liaising with quantity surveyors, and maintain quality control procedures. Conduct safety inspections and ensure site safety during construction. Prepare site reports and assess and minimize risk and loss.
