Systems Administrator Senior on GSA STARS II Small Business IDIQ under general direction, are responsible for activities related to system administration. They are responsible for planning, designing and implementing performance tuning to the highest level and necessary recovery procedures. Responsible for managing the daily operations of the host computer’s administrator’s interface by monitoring the performance of the system, maintenance, configuration, and repair. Maintain the equipment inventory and keep records of the downtime of the system. Develop plans for application implementation, custom scripts, and new systems and test procedures to ensure that their operations are reliable. Carry out the duty of trainer for other technical staff in the use of the software and hardware that they develop or acquire. Supervise the operations of the staff in the department and are responsible for hiring, disciplining, evaluating and training them. Assign personnel to various projects and direct their activities. Provide work direction and guide the technical and contract staff and student employees (if there are any) while determining the coverage that’s appropriate for the hours of operation. May have degrees in computer science and other related fields and years of experience in programming, complex system design, systems software, and support. Proficient in database programming languages such as ORACLE, SQL, Postgre-SQL, Transact-SQL, SYBASE, MySQL, Microsoft SQL Server, SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS); and other relevant computer programming languages such as MySQL, jQuery, Oracle, Java Script, Angular, CSS, HTML 5, Apache, Node.js, Beans, Postgre, Python, Bash, VBScripts, C, C++, CompTIA A+, Network+, Security+, and so on. Have extensive knowledge of relational database theory, database administration, data modeling, data analysis, database design, repository creation, data architecture, data warehouse modeling, database management reporting, business management, management engineering, systems engineering, operations research, and so on. Responsible for planning, organizing, and documenting complex system design and the configuration of systems consistent with the policies and procedures of the organization. Responsible for the installation, maintenance, configuration, and integrity of computer software.
