Communication Facility Engineer on GSA STARS II Small Business IDIQ design, review, and implement new operations or improvements in operations of communications facilities. Facilities engineers analyze material and labor costs, set procedures and standards, review building or production proposals, and may also be responsible for overall plant operations. They plan, design, and supervise reconfiguration, maintenance, and modification of equipment, machinery, buildings, structures, and other communications facilities infrastructure. Have degrees in computer engineering, systems engineering, computer science, electrical and electronics engineering or any other related field. Expert and experienced in facility maintenance and coordination, project management, troubleshooting, data center design, engineering design and management, facilities management, Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS), and so on. Experienced in programming languages such as MySQL, jQuery, Oracle, Java Script, Angular, CSS, HTML 5, Apache, Node.js, Beans, Postgre, Python, C, C++, and so on. Prepare engineering specifications, work data, and estimates for a wide range of facility-related projects. Have vast knowledge relating to architectural designs, building codes, building/project management principles with strict budget management adherence. Effectively communicate orally and in writing, maintain detailed and accurate records, and prepare clear and concise written reports. Apply engineering principles and techniques to solve problems such as those found in communication equipment, buildings, and infrastructure. Manage and monitor performance; work as part of a team of communications engineers and planners; approve project budgets, schedules and specifications with clients and managers; conduct site surveys; and produce, test, and implement designs. Develop and enact quality control procedures to resolve certain production and communication issues. Create test procedures and produce disaster management plans to ensure goals and deadlines are met. Write relevant reports, draw-up documents, and submit offers to clients accordingly. Determine the firm’s communication needs and develop management control systems that will reduce costs.
