Network Control Technician on GSA STARS II Small Business IDIQ monitors and maintain the network Systems performance, environment, servers and all other things that have to do with the network. They carry out minor troubleshooting and repair of network hardware, software and peripheral devices by following design or installation instructions and specifications. Stay abreast of trends and development in the network and telecommunications technology industry. Responsible for installing diagnostic equipment, software and systems for detecting problems within the network and vulnerabilities in the network infrastructure. May have degrees in Computer science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, Management Information Systems and other related fields. May be proficient in database programming languages such as ORACLE, SQL, Postgre-SQL, Transact-SQL, SYBASE, MySQL, Microsoft SQL Server, SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS); and other relevant computer programming languages such as MySQL, jQuery, Oracle, Java Script, Angular, CSS, HTML 5, Apache, Node.js, Beans, Postgre, Python, Bash, VBScripts, C, C++, CompTIA A+, Network+, Security+, and so on. Proficient in Network administration, systems administration, network infrastructure management, basic firewall management, Software development and maintenance, Network security services, End-user support and training. May possess network-related certifications such as Security+, CCNA CCENT or Network+ certifications. Monitor the operation, maintenance, development and security of the LAN, WAN, Intranets, extranets and other network protocols. Familiar with customer support management systems with excellent written and verbal communication skills to successfully handle network problem tickets created by helpdesks. Have excellent mechanical aptitude and pay great attention to details. Responsible for giving network permissions in terms of security clearance levels to personnel in the company and other network information system end-users. Install backup systems for data recovery process after information systems encounter problems. Responsible for monitoring all network facilities that may affect the performance of the network and its resources. Evaluate network systems, software and hardware, and make recommendations for upgrades and enhancements. Record and document the installation, configuration and upgrades of network hardware, software and systems. Analyze network installation, troubleshooting and management practices and suggest better procedures and policies for improving these processes. Tests and analyze all elements of complex network facilities, including power, software, communications devices, terminals, and modems.
