Network Operations Supervisor on GSA STARS II Small Business IDIQ is responsible for the operational support of the network and telecommunication infrastructure of an organization. They typically supervise or monitor changes in network configuration and resolve network problems in their day to day routine. Lead the team members responsible for data communication networks such as the Wide Area Networks (WANs) and the Local Area Networks (LANs). Approve any changes made to the network system or server and to the settings of network hardware and software. May have degrees in Engineering, Information Technology, Computer Science, Management Information Systems and other related fields. Skilled in scripting languages like Python, Shell, EEM, PERL, OnePk, Tcl, and so on. Have extensive knowledge of relational database theory, database administration, data modeling, data analysis, database design, repository creation, data architecture, data warehouse modeling, database management reporting, business management, management engineering, systems engineering, operations research, and so on. May possess high-level certifications from Cisco, Juniper, ITIL certification, and so on. Have working knowledge of signal and spectrum analyzers, frequency spectrum, DOCSIS diagnostic and troubleshooting procedures, switching platforms, protocols and access network technologies like RF theory and node combining plans (NCPs). Have sound comprehension of wireless networking and general IT functions, security operations and network-related knowledge. Proficient in the management of monitoring tools, escalation processes and procedures as well as alarming conditions. Efficiently manage all levels of management of connectivity, maintenance of network software configurations, network operations center, and network performance. Provide remote satellite help and connection setup for troubleshooting. Provide professional consultation to high-level management with respect to the changes that exist in network infrastructure and new projects to embark on in the organization. Provide first-level guidance to network operation and maintenance analysts, technicians, and/or engineers. Perform technical analysis of complex software, hardware, and transmission facility using various diagnostic tools in support of efficient network operations.
