Network Systems Manager on GSA STARS II Small Business IDIQ installs and maintains computer networks of different organizations. They train staff on current and emerging network systems and their corresponding software and hardware tools. Plan, develop and design new networks, find new equipment and enhancements that can improve the network systems in the company and recommend upgrades. Ensure that the network systems are integrated into all the business processes of the organization for better efficiency. Supervise or coordinate the departments related to the planning, development and management of network system and create improved record-keeping processes. Responsible for managing and enhancing the security of network systems. May have degrees in Computer science, Management information systems, Information Technology, Computer Engineering or other related fields. May be proficient in database programming languages such as ORACLE, SQL, Postgre-SQL, Transact-SQL, SYBASE, MySQL, Microsoft SQL Server, SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS); and other relevant computer programming languages such as MySQL, jQuery, Oracle, Java Script, Angular, CSS, HTML 5, Apache, Node.js, Beans, Postgre, Python, Bash, VBScripts, C, C++, CompTIA A+, Network+, Security+, and so on. Proficient in handling data center and network technologies like Ethernet, Spanning Tree Protocol, First Hop Redundancy protocols, and so on. May possess certifications like CCNA, Security+ and an active TS/SCI Security Clearance. Experienced in handling protocols or concepts like MPLS VPNs, BGP, EIGRP, OSPF, IS-IS, and Software-defined networking. Proficient in working with network management tools, network security tool, telecommunications and cloud computing technologies such as Cisco Call Manager (CUCM), Cisco ISE, Juniper Junos, Variphy, and ticket systems like IssueTrak. Responsible for the configuration and maintenance of computer networks. Manage, monitor and train personnel responsible for monitoring and managing network performance based on network systems standards and policies. Supervise all personnel engaged in the operation and support of network facilities, including all communications equipment in large scale or multi-shift operations. See to the enhancement of network technology and upgrade network hardware and software periodically. Ensure the security of network system and technologies.
