PC Systems Specialist on GSA STARS II Small Business IDIQ under general supervision, perform analytical, technical, and administrative work in the planning, design, and installation of new and existing personal computer systems. They work on the update of moderately complex applications and set up a system for the backup of data files and information to prevent loss during upgrades and equipment replacement process. Document daily installation, upgrade activities, PC problems, and actions taken to resolve them. Discuss with end users to determine their PC software and hardware needs. Prepare end user training materials and course outlines, and train users and staff in the proper use of PC hardware and software to enhance their productivity. Attend seminars and workshops, read articles and technical manuals to update their knowledge of computer hardware and software. May have degrees in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, Information Systems or other related fields. May possess certifications like CompTIA and A+. Familiar with various operating systems (Windows, Linux, UNIX, Vista, and so on) and mobile operating systems (Apple iOS, Android, and so on). May be proficient in database programming languages such as ORACLE, SQL, Postgre-SQL, Transact-SQL, SYBASE, MySQL, Microsoft SQL Server, SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS); and other relevant computer programming languages such as MySQL, jQuery, Oracle, Java Script, Angular, CSS, HTML 5, Apache, Node.js, Beans, Postgre, Python, Bash, VBScripts, C, C++, CompTIA A+, Network+, Security+, and so on. Identify and implement enhancements and upgrades to the advantage of the end-user community.
